Hickory St Lounge Rolls Out New Craft Cocktails

Hickory Street Lounge is the craft cocktail haven, a hidden gem tucked between Rusty’s Taco and Hoochies off Hickory Street. A few months ago we featured their Paloma in our Denton Dram, and knew we had been missing out. We caught back up with Joshua Griffin, partner owner and bartender, to get a peek at what they have in their hat for winter cocktails.

Hot Buttered Rum

Hickory Street does it right, and creates their own home-made battered butter for this cocktail. Perfect for those with a sweet tooth. The butter is mixed with a spiced rum, boiling water to melt everything together, and then the drink is topped with whip cream.

Pecan Cinnamon Old Fashioned

Infusions are a great way to take any cocktail up a notch, adding a subtle or not so subtle layer of flavor into the recipe. Pecans are roasted in-house and then go into a container of TX whiskey-so it can soak up the buttery flavors of the pecans. Combined with a house-made cinnamon syrup and cherry bitters, this Old Fashioned is the perfect way to warm up on a cold night.

Indian Summer

Don’t let the drink name fool you, this cocktail has a great way to destress from all the festive frenzy with all the winter vibes. Hendricks gin, St. Germaine, fresh lemon juice, and Concord grapes create a mix of flavors that will pick you back up.

The Dude

Hickory Street makes the majority if not all of their mixers in house, upping the ante and have their own cordial using Denton’s own Bookish coffee for their house-made coffee liqueur. His throwback to the Big Lebowski mixes the coffee liqueur with Texas Deep Eddy vodka and Heavy Creme.

Amaretto Vanilla Flip

This take on the classic takes amaretto, vanilla syrup, lemon juice, and a frothed egg white to that will flip your taste buds upside down-in a good way.

Rosemary Maple Bourbon Sour

Not your everyday sweet & sour, this version adds some winter flavors to bring a seasonal twist. Bulliet Bourbon, lemon juice, maple syrup, and fresh rosemary makes the perfect after-dinner beverage, or happy hour cocktail.
