Acid Koolaid Fest Will Melt Faces Through Next Four Days

Acid Koolaid returns for its second year beginning today in downtown Denton. More than 40 bands from today through Sunday will take over main stages, patios, basements, and a backyard with two visual teams (Rotsnaze Collective and Weird Destiny) bringing some psychedelic effects to the performances.

Jonahs Downer is spearheading a team of dedicated volunteers, who have been planning this event since they wrapped up their festival last year. Growing from a modest two day two stage event at Backyard on Bell last year, you can see performances by Amplified Heat (Austin), Botany (Austin), Sailer Poon (Austin), Flower Graves (Austin), Peyote Coyote (Austin), Helen Kelter Skelter (OK), Planet What (OK), including a local lineup that includes Mother Tongues, Sunbuzzed, and Dome Dwellers.

“Most excited about the fact that we get to do this all over again, but I never anticipated it would turn into such an unruly animal, but we’ve managed to coerce this beast of a line up into existence,” said Downer. “I am super excited to see Same Brain from Fort Worth, Kill It at Andy’s they are one of my favorite bands in the metroplex right now and any time I get to see them or play with them in my band Maestro Maya it is always the best experience.”

Tickets are $10 per showcase or $30 for the 4 day 6 showcase festival. Venues include Dan’s Silverleaf, And’s Bar, Backyard on Bell and tickets can be purchased through the Acid Koolaid Fest 2018 Facebook Page or on EventBrite.
