Mateo Granados graduated from the University of North Texas in 2014 with a B.A. in Radio, TV, and Film and a minor in Spanish.
Mateo has consistently sought to engage with the local creative community through various projects. He founded a series of short film and art showcases called Granatum. There the focus is on finding an audience for regional media in an intimate setting. His very first film curation was part of an art exhibit in collaboration with Temporary Name art collective. Mateo also fervently supports the local music scene. It's a rarity to see him at a show without a camera. He has volunteered with Sofar Sounds for the past year which is another brand that seeks to provide an intimate setting for performing artists.
Three of Mateo's favorite things about Denton are the tacos, the craft beer, and the house shows. He hopes to eventually compile all his coverage of local events into a pretty sweet documentary.
