Denton Says Goodbye to Dani Rae's

After eight long years, popular Cajun restaurant Dani Rae’s is closing on May 29th, 2017, due to the Interstate 35 expansion.

“The highway is taking away our front parking, which is also our main parking," said Dani, operation manager and daughter of Dani Rae’s owners. The owners have tried to find a new place to locate Dani Rae’s, but they have not had any luck.

“Almost anywhere we look is either too expensive or not what we want. There is no real future right now, even though we want to keep going and move on.”

Other buildings around or along the Interstate will be moving or closing as well.

Discount Tire, friends and neighbor to Dani Rae’s, has already moved since their building will be torn down, and Applebee’s is rumored to be shutting down as well.

Eventually, if all things work out and they have a bit of luck, there may be a future for Dani Rae’s, but, for now, we bid them farewell.
