Weekend Update 9.28 - 10.1.2017
It’s finally October.
IT’S FINALLY OCTOBER!
This Sunday marks the beginning of the spookiest month of the year, and we’re here for it. October is going to be jam-packed with fall-tivities, and this weekend is no exception. Start the month off this weekend with a night full of scares and screams at The Dark Path Haunt, or with magic and mystery at Denton County Brewing Company’s “Evening of Magic.” Got little ones? There’s a movie night on the square coming up. And Fry Street's gearing up for Oktoberfest.
There’s a little something for everyone this weekend, so get out there, Dentonites.

“It’s yo' chance, do yo' dance!” Space Jam will be playing on the courthouse lawn this Friday for another installment of Denton’s Movie Night on the Square. The 1996 animated/live action crossover film features America’s favorite Looney Tunes as they enter the 4D realm and encounter intergalactic intruders who want to capture them. An epic basketball game between the two to determine their fate is planned, and hilarity ensues. This is a free, family-friendly event!

This event also marks the third annual 5k charity run and costume contest, hosted by Denton county organizations Friends of the Family, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, and G.O.A.L. Denton’s creepiest outdoor haunt will be opening its gates this weekend for the Halloween season. The Dark Path Haunt is nestled in the thickets and trees near the infamous Goatman’s Bridge. The Dark Path Haunt gives each participating group of thrill-seekers a single lantern to light their way along the path as monsters, ghouls, and the Goat Man himself lunge toward guests. The Dark Path Haunt is open every Friday and Saturday night from now until the end of October. Guests beware: you’re in for many, many scares.
