The Dentonites Guide to New Year's Eve

Searching for a unique experience on New Year’s Eve without having to make the trek to Dallas? The Dentonite has a list of some of the festivities taking place to ring in the end of the terror that was 2016. Whether you’re looking to enjoy an evening of poker, live music, masquerade or take part in community advocacy, Denton has everything you need to spread cheer and positivity for 2017.

There are so many options on NYE in Denton, it’s kind of ridiculous. Make House of God your first stop or your last, they have a stacked line up all night for your earbuds to enjoy. EBDB starts the show at 7:30, followed by 30 minutes sets from Red-Five, Violent Feminist, Malconstruct, and Amethyst rounds off the set ending right before the ball drops. This event is BYOB, and make sure to read all the details on parking in the event. Ending 2016 with a House Show? Now that’s a way to step into 2017 on the right foot.

7Feathers New Year’s Eve Bash at Backyard on Bell

Looking to try your luck at the poker table without the long drive to Oklahoma? 7Feathers NYE Bash at Backyard on Bell will holding a poker night with prizes from 9 P.M. to 1 A.M. Rocking in the closing of 2016 will be featured Denton artists including Miranda Kennedy, Strongwork, with a balloon drop and performance inside the outdoor tent by Levi Cobb and the Big Smoke to welcome in 2017. Lil'd NYE: Arts & Advocacy

Ring the New Year in while doing some good for the community. Lil'd NYE: Arts & Advocacy inaugural event is a result of a partnership between United Way of Denton County and the Greater Denton Arts Council to support new after-school arts programming. Purchase a ticket as an individual or a couple and you'll spend the evening enjoying cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, trying your luck in the casino with the "fun money" included with your admission, and dancing the night away to the Big Band sounds of a live band.

NYE Masquerade Ball

Make sure to hit up SCRAP Denton for all your crafty mask making needs, Paschall’s is throwing a masquerade ball ya’ll. You can bring in the new year with some high quality cocktails from some of your favorite bartenders, dressed to the nine’s, and toasting to 2017 being whoever you want to be! This event has no cover, but if you safely make it down the stairs to rock out with the lineup at Andy’s, it’s just $5.

Ten Hands LIVE: New Years Eve in Denton Dan’s Silverleaf

Dan’s Silverleaf is ringing in 2017 right with none other than the band, the myth, the legend: Ten Hands. Comprised of highly accomplished local musicians, Ten Hands live act is one that all Dentonites should experience at least once (but really whenever you’re lucky enough to have the opportunity). The band’s playful alternative rock stylings are reminiscent of the late 80’s and early 90’s, a time when the band dominated the DFW scene, but timeless enough to connect with a whole new audience since the band’s re-formation in 2014. Tickets will run you $15 and your New Year’s black eyed peas and champagne toast are included.

NYE: Starparty, Wax Logic, and D-Mar at Andy's Bar Re-Opening! 
Andy’s Bar

Beaming down from outer space for an evening of surreal music and dance, STARPARTY will be performing alongside Wax Logic and D-Mar to celebrate the new year. What better way to go out with the old than to check out the re-opening of one Denton’s beloved venues, Andy’s Bar? Doors open at 9 P.M. The Bearded Monk is bringing in Mojo Band and Kind Beats to give you some sounds to shake it too. The party starts at 9pm, and you know they are going to ring in 2017 with a shotgun that you won’t want to miss. What better way to welcome in a joyous new year than with pint clinking and good vibes? That’s how Denton does it ya’ll. New Year’s Eve Bash
Wine Squared

If you prefer to ring in the New Year’s Eve in cozy spaces with live jazz, then the bash at Wine Squared will be the hangout of choice. A special VIP package at $22 enhances the experience with all you can eat hors d'oeuvres, a reserved tables, and a glass of bubbly. The food pairs nicely with champagne and includes: Baked Brie with Black Cherry & Rosemary, Deviled Eggs, Kombu Celery, Fiery Bacon Figs, and Comté & Thyme Gougères. If you’d rather bounce through just for a drink and a little bit of jazz, then buying a ticket isn’t necessary for entrance.

New Year’s Eve at Harvest House

Ringing in 2017, Harvest House will be providing a “super upbeat and ready to rock” playlist to end the harrowing events of 2016 on a positive note. The beloved beer garden, concert venue, and juice/coffee shop will also be providing 450 complimentary champagne glasses for a toast of 2017. Stay tuned on the Facebook page for more details.
