Denton Community Market, 9 a.m.
Join the Denton Community Market for the last market day of 2016. They’ll be celebrating another successful year with a festive farewell. Featuring holiday-themed booths, a silent auction, and holiday music singers in costume, this will be one market day you don't want to miss! So, do yourself some good and burn off those Thanksgiving leftovers by taking one last stroll around the market until spring. They’ll be extending hours until 3 p.m. for this farewell event.
Harvest House, 8 p.m.
Queen for a Day, a Queen tribute band, reunites for one DFW show at Harvest House. Founded in 2003, this four-piece is dedicated to performing Queen’s music to perfection. Focusing on songs from 1973–81, QFAD will rock you without synthesizers or vocal processors. Take a step back in time and a brief escape from reality with this celebratory show. We think Freddie Mercury would be proud. Come see for yourself! $5.
The Bearded Monk, 10 p.m.
Join iDentonfy at The Bearded Monk for their Beers, Beards, and Boards Fundraiser. They’ll be collecting cash/check donations to help support Denton Skate Supply in their effort to build a new skate park that will offer free entry and will be accessible for all ages. In honor of No-Shave November coming to an end, there will be a beard competition with prizes. If you’re ready to part ways with your whiskers, Grooming Parlor and Beard Emporium will be on-site. Drink a beer (or two), enjoy some food from one of the Austin St. food trucks, and donate to a good cause.
House of God, 8 p.m.
Sometimes what you really need to wake yourself up after a two-day long turkey coma is a good ol' fashioned house show. Message the good folks over at House of God for the address, be sure to BYOB and settle in for some garage rock goodness to punctuate your (hopefully) long weekend.
Audacity Brew House, 7 p.m.
Good news, Dentonites: you won’t even have to spend money to catch PocketBook this Saturday. If you haven’t checked out this Jazz/R&B/Soul group yet, this week is your chance to do it for free over at Audacity Brew House. Their soul-soothing sounds are the perfect way to ease into your “Where did the weekend go?” panic mode.
BackYard on Bell, 7 p.m.
Saturday night is full up on musical choices, folks. As if you weren’t already faced with some tough decisions, we’ve thrown yet another killer lineup into the mix. Bring a coat, grab a slice of some of that delish pizza and enjoy some tunes from some of the DFW’s best and friendliest.
Sunday, November 27
BackYard On Bell, 8 p.m.
Calling all The Walking Dead fans! Join BackYard On Bell for a watch party of this week’s episode. Anticipating another highly-suspenseful episode (which is pretty much every episode, right?), they’ll be offering $4 pints and $3 shot specials. Plus, BackYard On Bell has killer pizza and food trucks. Zombies + cocktails + food? Sounds like a successful Sunday.
